Connect and disconnect rails
Two rails sitting next to each other are just two independent drawings. What lets them carry a train is the connection between their ports.
Magnetic snap
When you move or rotate a rail and one of its ports comes close to a free port of another rail:
- the two ports snap together (geometric snap),
- the logical connection is created automatically,
- a visual cue confirms the link.
The snap is forgiving: angles get aligned to the closest match. If a flexible rail is involved, its curvature can adjust to absorb the difference.
Disconnecting
Move a rail (with the Gizmo) away from its neighbour: the connection breaks automatically.
See every connection
In 2D view, enable Labels (toolbar). Connected ports are visually marked.
What happens if I delete a connected rail?
Every connection involving that rail is broken, but neighbouring rails are not modified. If a locomotive was sitting on the deleted rail, its status flips to OffNetwork and you’ll have to reposition it.
